The Project organizes a series of educational actions (or interventions) within school, aiming at improving Minority pupils’ command in Greek and school performance. More specifically, the Project:
- Offers compensatory classes at primary, secondary and high schools, conducted at hours additional to the regular school schedule (at primary schools on weekends, as well). The classes have small sizes and are given by specialized teachers. These compensatory actions, when they began, in 2002, were only for secondary schools. In the fourth phase of the Project (2010-13) however, they have been extended to also include primary education and high schools.
- Carries out a multi-level intervention in specific localities with minority pupil population characterized by intermittent schooling and very low school performance, with a view to integrating these pupils into school and providing support for them.
- Is conducting, in a small number of secondary schools with minority pupils, a pilot trial of its textbooks and educational materials for the courses of Literature, History, and Natural Sciences. In this trial the books and materials are used as alternative sources of content, facilitating the implementation of the current regular curriculum.
